thanks for your answers! What does Saturn conjuncting True node in chart mean?? and is True node same as North node?
Nodes are points in the sky. They are not objects. They are the points where the Moon's orbit intersects the ecliptic (the Sun's apparent path around the earth). Since the Moon's orbit varies a bit and goes north and south of the ecliptic, the intersecting points move along the ecliptic usually backwards. The node on the north side of the ecliptic is called the north node. The node on the south end is called the south node. In older literature they are called the dragon's head (north) and the dragon's tail (south).

There are two ways of determining the position of the nodes: the mean position and the true position. They vary very slightly. The mean position is like an average and when measured that way they move only retrograde or backwards in the zodiac. The true node is the actual place it sits and it has short periods of direct movement. They are always exactly opposite each other. If the north node is at 10 Virgo the south node has to be at 10 Pisces.

';Saturn conjunct the true node'; doesn't tell us whether it is conjunct the north or south node. It only tells us how the node is measured in the chart. There are all kinds of meanings given to the nodes in modern astrology. Most of them are junk. In traditional astrology the north node expands like Jupiter and the south contracts like Saturn. Saturn on the north node would decrease the expansion influence of the node and increase the constrictive force where the south is influential.

It is best to use only conjunctions to the nodes and not aspects. Remember, when something hits a node by aspect or conjunction it hits the other one as well.

In my experience the south node is the one that bears watching. It is often the place 'where you get hurt.'; Janis Joplin has the south node on the ascendant and she hurt herself. What does Saturn conjuncting True node in chart mean?? and is True node same as North node?
