THE TRUE MEANING OF CHRISTMAS IS; BABY JESUS IS BORN.WHAT DOES CHRISTMAS MEAN; ALL FAMILY TOGETHER ,HAVING FUN,SINGING,TALKING TO THE PEOPLE LONG TIME NO SEE,EX CHANGING GIFTS,BE HAPPY ETC.......What is the true meaning of christmas?and what does christmas mean to you?
To me...Christmas is Jesus' birthday, and a reminder of what a better person I need to try to be.I love my children so much that i can't imagine how much He loves us to have died for us all! And of course,I still cling to the memories of Santa Clause for my youngest daughter, because she still believes! It makes Christmas morning very exciting!!
The meaning of chrismas is happiness and joy. Tons of lights and bells ringing. Being with my family safe at home. No school or homework. That's the meaning of chrismas to me.
that is the day we celebrate that the fact jesus christ was born even though it might not be an accurate date that is just a date that we signify that he was in fact born. that is what it means and we give gifts to every one that we love bc that is what the wise men did to signify that they were gratfull that he was born and they new how wonderfull he was and they new he was Jesus and would do many great wonderous things. that is what it means to me that jesus was born and it is a time to come together with your family to celebrate that and to show each other how much you appreciate them and the gifts that god has given to you.
To remind Us of sufferance in this World
it has no meaning .it celebrates a dead man, and is all about making the economy grow.
Christmas is very painful to me , that people pull this veil of illusion , over their heads and act like non thinking robots , following things that were done in the 1700s following the traditions of Charles `Dickens.
the worship of Maya--illusion.
Christmas means to me , being surrounded with loved ones, and loving them wholly for whom they are. I adore my friends, and family and cannot imagine a holiday without them, for my love for them knows no bounds.
Many people are under the assumption that Christmas has it's origins in Christianity. However...
Roman officials decided on December 25th as the date for Christmas because they were trying to convert their heavily Pagan nation to the religion. The Pagan's Mid-Winter festival, Saturnalia, was held at this time of the year. In order to lure them over, many holidays that are now associated with Christianity were decided by the dates of corresponding Pagan holidays and festivals.
Christmas was more like Mardi Gras than the holiday we know today up until as late as the late 19th century. Yes, that's right, Mardi Gras! In England, during the 17th century, Protestants had taken over the country. Being very religiously strict they actually outlawed Christmas for it's vulgarity. Of course the people wanted their celebration so they in turn reinstated the Monarchy.
In the United States, after the Revolutionary War, anything English as shunned. Therefore Christmas was reinvented. It was decided the holiday would be about family and togetherness rather than raucous partying.
The Christmas tree also has it's roots in Pagan culture. Evidence of ';Christmas'; trees date back as far as Egypt. Santa Claus in his modern form was also only recently invented. In the 1940's he was revamped as the jolly old man we all know. Actually this was done by advertising agencies and stores of the time in order to help sell merchandise. Before that, Santa was more in line with the partying ideology of the Pagan Christmas. In fact, Santa's image evolved from a Pagan gnome like creature. Very much unlike what we know today.
The true meaning of Christmas is what each individual wants it to be for them - or should i say MAKES it be for them. What does it mean to me - it's the one time of year my family gets together and are happy no matter what else is going on the rest of the year.
Christmas is a holiday to acknowledge when God sent his only son to be born by a virgin. So that He (God's son) would grow up to die for our sins on the cross %26amp; be resurrected the third day to conquer death %26amp; hell. So if we accept in our hearts that Jesus died %26amp; rose again %26amp; make Him the Savior of our life that we can go to heaven one day. So that when we die, we won't go to a horrible, lonely place called Hell that burns forever that was made for the devil %26amp; his angels (demons). The Christmas tree is a symbol of the cross that Jesus died on. The lights are to represent the Light of the world (Jesus).
