And an unsuccessful one at that.If evolution is true does that mean Mother Teresa was a mutation?
Every succeeding generation has a genome that is slightly mutated from the generation that came before. Success in evolution refers to whether or not a new trait or protein is absorbed into a majority of a population's members in future generations. I don't know enough about the Family history or genome of Mother Teresa to determine whether her genome or that of her close family members contained a useful new gene and there hasn't been enough time to determine, even if we knew, whether or not that new gene, assuming it did exist, would become a dominant and common gene throughout the human population in general.
So yes Mother Teresa was a mutation, just like every human alive is. Whether or not her specific genetic traits were successfull or unsuccessful would depend on information that is both specifically unavailable to me (family and genomic information specifically) and generally unavailable to everyone (how any new and useful traits that may have been present within her genome and that of her close family members that she may have shared with them will be distributed throughout the general human population in the future, given that not enough time has ellapsed to tell). If evolution is true does that mean Mother Teresa was a mutation?
No, it does not.
Wow, you're obviously not well-acquainted with what kind of a person Mother Teresa was, are you?
Wow
That is all I can say.
Mother Teresa was one of the most successful, well-loved people ever. She did tons of good for tons of people.
Wow.....that's all I can say.
I think you may be the unsuccessful mutation.
I am totally with Jeff on this, and those who feel as he does.
I think this is the ';how can somebody be nice in a world that favors survival of the fittest?'; question.
Altruism in social animals like humans is actually predicted by the theory of natural selection. It helps all of us survive better if most of us are altruistic most of the time.
Yes and a horrible one she was an awful woman. It says something about the church if it admires somebody so offensive.
I feel like i am de-evolving just reading this question. Does this make as little sense to everyone else as it did to me?
Mother Theresa ended her life an atheist...
Your comparison makes no sense. You asked a similar question yesterday.
towards the end of her life she looked like a mutant. but i cant bad mouth her she did help alotta people
Doesn't make sense, but if you're asking if she's a mutant..
Then yes. Everyone is.
No, but it's true she was a charlatan.
Evolution is not true. There is no evidence that things evolve into other things.
Mother Teresa was not a mutation. She was just a woman who chose the wrong path in life.
